Kids Connection Uplands - Monthly Newsletter

Hello everyone,

I hope your summer’s gone well!  If your child attended our summer camp, thank you we had an amazing summer!!  For everyone else, welcome and welcome back to our before and after school program!

Tuesday, September 2nd  is a half day at Uplands elementary, we will be open for before school care only 7:30am to 8:40am.  Unfortunately, we can only offer those hours this school year due to staffing. 

We will have the outside gym door open for picking up and dropping off your child.  

We do spend time outside each day, so make sure your child has proper clothing and footwear to play.  We will leave a sign on the door to the locations of where we are if we are not in the gym.

I know some parents like to send and pick up their children the first couple days of school, if you are NOT needing care, please send us an email or text/call 250-488-6331, so we don’t waste our time looking for your child.  The first couple of weeks are busy getting back into the school routine so please communicate your needs.

Myself, Miss Jenn, Jamie, Chae-Lynn and Grace are returning to do before and after school care daily and we have a few new staff joining our team!

Please remember to send your child with an after-school snack, children have an opportunity to eat from 3:15pm to 4:30pm.  We do have some children with nut allergies, so please do not send any food with any kind of nuts.

Pro-D Days:

Unfortunately, due to low enrollment, we've decided not to offer care on Pro-D days.

For kindergarten parents:

If your family is new to our program, please stop by the first week so the staff can meet your child.  Drop off and pick up is at the gym, we will leave a sign on the gym door if we are somewhere else in the school, we do spend time outside in the large playground.

At this point you must have received information from Uplands school, letting you know when your child will be attending school the first couple weeks of September.  Unfortunately, we cannot offer full day care due to the fact the school requires the gym during the day.  You can send your child to before/after school on their schedule days until kindergartens start full days at school. 

Our staff will drop off and pick up your child from their classroom on school days.
