Kids Connection Uplands - Monthly Newsletter

Hello everyone,

I hope your summer’s gone well!  If your child attended our summer camp, thank you we had an amazing summer!!  For everyone else, welcome and welcome back to our before and after school program!

Tuesday, September 3rd is a half day at Uplands elementary, we will be open for before school care only 7:30am to 8:40am.  Unfortunately, we can only offer those hours this school year due to staffing. 

We will have the outside gym door open for picking up and dropping off your child. Please sign in your child when you drop off for before school care and sign them out for after school care.  

We do spend time outside each day, so make sure your child has proper clothing and footwear to play.  We will leave a sign on the door to the locations of where we are if we are not in the gym.

I know some parents like to send and pick up their children the first couple days of school, if you are NOT needing care, please send us an email or text/call 250-488-6331, so we don’t waste our time looking for your child.  The first couple of weeks are busy getting back into the school routine so please communicate your needs.

Myself, Miss Jenn, Chae-Lynn, Grace and Lauren are returning to do before and after school care daily. 

Please remember to send your child with an after-school snack, children have an opportunity to eat from 3:15pm to 4:30pm.  We do have some children with nut allergies, so please do not send any food with any kind of nuts.

*WE ARE NOT OFFERING CARE FOR THE PRO-D IN SEPTEMBER DUE TO LOW ENROLLEMNT THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS.  PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN PRO-D CARE FOR THE REST OF THE SCHOOL YEAR AND I WILL OPEN THE SIGN UP SHEETS.  

Pro-D Days:
I've had a few parents inquire about profession days throughout the school year, we will offer care if the enrollment is high enough.  If you are interested in care for the pro-d days in September, October or November, please fill out the online form found on our website, do not pay at this time.  The password for the form is Uplands#67.

The deadline to sign up for the pro-d days will be two weeks before the date of the pro-d day, if we don't have enough children registered it will be cancelled. 

Hours for Pro-d day is 8am to 5pm and the fee is $30, there is an option on our website to pay.  

For kindergarten parents:

If your family is new to our program, please stop by the first week so the staff can meet your child.  Drop off and pick up is at the gym, we will leave a sign on the gym door if we are somewhere else in the school, we do spend time outside in the large playground.

At this point you must have received information from Uplands school, letting you know when your child will be attending school the first couple weeks of September.  Unfortunately, we cannot offer full day care due to the fact the school requires the gym during the day.  You can send your child to before/after school on their schedule days until kindergartens start full days at school. 

Our staff will drop off and pick up your child in Kindergarten from their classroom on school days.
